I don't know about maybe a spot of jb? If possible try to roll the stainless a smaller diameter and it may just end up being a snug fit without any messy weld, might need a spot of ca to keep it from moving. I've done similar things by finding something around the house with the right diameter (dowel rod) roll and overlap, test fit ,mark and cut, carefully not to deform and can be slipped over part or shaft. ??

As Cooper said roll it and get it as close as you can and then a little spot of ca glue or a small screw.. Do the CA glue first.....

well rolling it a little tighter and super gluing seems to hold
I glued the mesh to the back side where the screw is. then with
a toothpick I dotted a few of the mesh holes with c/a to lock it down
I just don't know how strong the bond will be......
truck should ready for the sept 27 show
