Default My Stretched globeliner New Pics!!

OK so im at a standstill until i can start getting parts, so i decided to put the truck back together to see roughly what it will look like, and i make my shopping list of needed parts to finish I put the rack back on and took a scrap peice of sheet brass and made a temp texas bumper. AND WOW!!! Im loving the way this thing is going to look!!! I decided to try to keep the truck as close to the 1:1 as possible but change it a little at the same time. Im not sure what color ill end up with but it may not be orange/white.. may be red/white or take it old school with a brown/crimson scheme. anyways as usual heres some pics, cause i like seeing pics of progress to go with the words

Back view (intakes and pipes installed)

Closer view

Front view with stock bumper

Side view with my fenders (still undergoing revision on them)

Back view with my fenders

Again with boredom i made a load and strapped it down to the trailer using the holes i drilled for the lights it will be getting eventually.

Heres the temp bumper

Then had to run it around the basement

Thats all for now.. might make a video and still need to upload the ones of my daughter riding on the trailer. Thanks for looking and all the nice comments. I hope to start ordering parts this week to get this build moving along.

Great work man! Looks amazing. To wire the trailer lights, lift the planks up. There is plenty of room underneath as they are floating on ribs that have a central channel up the middle.

Thanks everyone. I'm learning as I go. I'm hoping to get some things ordered this week, just waiting for a price. I think i'm going to get a set of miter cut pipes, seeing if Russ can make the rack and breathers (that way its perfect and square) a new visor, front and rear bumper, and poss new fenders. Hope to get half of it ordered this week and the rest in a few Weeks

Aaron, the stretched globe pulling the tri-axle flatbed looks mean. I love the stained deck, nice touch.

Ok heres an update. Been working on a few projects off my "honey do List" and Thanks to Glorydays24 and corbetttrailers got a few parts in needed to get some things moving along with the build (thanks guys!!) While waiting for LEDS to come in to light up the trailer i got the rear bumper and homemade DOT bar made and installed.

Heres playing around with an idea of making fenders for the trailer to match the truck, but instead of doubles it'll have triples..

heres my shiney new wheels they are the stock ones but now they all match, and are shiney lol

Thanks for looking!! Got my new dremel today and some more pvc thats thinner so going to remake the fenders for the truck and fabricate some for the trailer..

Aaron, I must say the bumper is looking gooooooood!!! And the triple fenders will really set the trailer off. I'm glad I could help out buddy.

OK so playing around with ideas, and need input to keep or change back... Let me know what you think of this...

Making it a spread axle, shorty fenders with tool box. The box ill prob make from sheet metal, and not keep the styrene (was just a prototype)

let me know if you like it better this way?? I kinda do but am still on the fence about it..

Thanks For looking!!!

I loved that trailer! You don't have it any more? Bummer. Yea I agree along with cabovers i'm a big fan of spread axle trailers. The spread axle will stay. Not sure if I Luke the small fenders so i'm going to make bigger ones and see how it looks..

Spread axle is gonna stay!

Everyone does spread axle but the triple with those guards will make it stand out from the rest with nice shiny tool box/s in from of them,

Cheers Tracy

That's looking good! One suggestion though. Your trailer's fenders look like they need to wrap around the wheels a little more, so they match the tractor's fenders. I like the spread axle better. Either way, it's going to look good, but it's a little easier to model the norms, rather then the abnormal. Just don't see many tri-axle trailers around the US like that. That's not to say it wouldn't fun to model, because it's unique and cool, but spread axles are just more common, and they look sweet too.

Wow, That is a difficult choice ... triple or spread.... triple or Spread.....
I got it figured out -- you need 2 trailers -- One in each configuration

Looking Good either way to me!

I agree about the fenders I cut them too short... Good thing I bought 10ft of the pvc pipe I use to make them I am going to re do them but I need to get more styrene now.
I think the frame and fenders will be painted to match the truck but the side rails will be polished. I got half of one side polished but wasn't happy with it. Too many scratch marks left in it..... May be sending those out to get polished nicely.

Tracey I agree with the tri axle but this one will be the spread, and down the road I'll to a tri As well, after I get my dump trailer! I really want one of those. Even thought about converting this one to a dump trailer..
