Was getting dark and I still haven't hooked up the ladder lights. And in the video , I remember before someone commented on the sound effect of the train, tracks are not too far away and it just happens I video whenever train comes through.

thanks guys, this is way different, i have never used a computer for any of the forum stuff, always been using my Ipad, so much easier to type, screen is huge!!! I'm liking this!!

reg, a couple weeks ago a friend of mine had another friend selling a trail finder, painted and built, roller. good price and a bunch of buddies are into scale trucks. so I bought it from him and started getting parts around for it. not like I don't have any other projects needing finished!!
it was nice to see her smile and not be annoyed with those toys

Nice, I'm envious of the shop!

How bout a bit of info on the DRO you have on the lathe? How many axis is it, what brand? Where/how did you install the scales? I sure would like a DRO on mine.

Jim

Jim, I got both dro's for mill and lathe from eBay, I'll have to root around for paperwork. They were the less expensive ones out there. But have been flawless. One of the scales for mill wasn't working properly at first. Simple fix, it was just dirty. Have to make your own mounts. But that is pretty simple. I only have two scales on lathe. I am looking to put a cheep slide scale on tail stock. I'll try and find some more info for ya.

Back of the bed scale

And slide scale,

And finally getting back to the haul truck. A while back I got this rock crawler motor/esc. I'm thinking it will be better with the sensored motor for easier start up and low speed. Yeah it's already geared with a3:1 diff, a 4:1, 4:1, 3:1 tranny but the big motor I had in it would just spinn up too fast and was slapping all those gears pretty hard. Just a matter of time before some broke. Like the driveshaft first!!

With swapping motors I need to make a new motor mount. But the bulkhead is fitted into the frame. I'm going to make a bell for the motor to fit into. This will allow me to get motor closer to universals and a direct fit to the universal. Before I had an adapter from the 8mm motor shaft to the driveshaft. Just some pieces of stock to make part out of in the background.

And also got new pieces of acrylic/plexi? Also with the proper adhesive. Reason for remaking tank is it has a leak in it and the fitting side will be a little thicker.

Copper. Good to see you took a picture of your wife running equipment. My wife picked up one of my TX this summer when I was out in the dirt pile. I was so chocked I never thought of taking a photo for proof. As I am sure it will never happen again. I now only have a vivid memory of how it went. The hoe was in attitudes it had never experienced before. I mean the John Deere 350 excavator.

Thank you, I am planning on staying put for many years and I know my grand ambitions of building things ( things In the 1:1 world) are dwindling. I've had my eye on this garage for years and finally got the resource to get it done
