Your ADT is coming along, thanks for the video's and photo's Elliot. I am the same regarding the speed control on the pump, just can't get my head around that, I get it for one function but not for all of them..
Have you put it in a scale yet, it looks like it has some weight to it.

cheers
greg

@Rob... thanks, I wanted this for so long, hence spent many an evening putting it together... I will run it like this for a while, just to see if there are any teething issues...

@Joe, Make the window bigger, you only need 1/2 inch and you're there! It'll be the perfect companion for you new 360.

Ref the turning circle, Frank said it had a much better turning circle that the wedico, the tiles are 13" just measured the gap that it turns in, its 54" or 134cms So pretty good...

@Greg.. thank.. not weighed it yet, but its **** heavy. Will put it on the scales tomorrow and see how much..

I had it out in the Garden today, 3 year old daughter sat in the bucket, that made it work hard.. but it took it all within its stride... One thing I like, is how the middle axle tyres fold/scuff when turning corners with a load on.. just like the 1:1.

Been a while since the last update, popped over to Germany for the weekend to visit the Karlsruhe model fair/show. There was so much to see and do, I completely forgot to take photos!

Little update..

Fitted the rear straps that allow the rear flap to open when emptying the rear bucket… not much to look at!

After looking at some full size dumpers, I decided the try and route the rear hoses a little tidier and more realistic to the full size.

A good friend of mine knocked up a t-piece arrangement on his mill and I fitted it last night

After

Elliot, the "T" piece make a good model look even better, it certainly has tidied up the hoses from the dump pistons to the main body of the truck

Thanks Guys

I know it doesn't offer any better performance, but I think it makes it look a little better.... and slightly more like the 1:1 version

Looks great, why the switch to the blue hoses? Did you loose any cycle speed on the dump cylinders?

Hi & Thanks.

The blue hoses are polyurethane and much more flexible than the black nylon hoses, I will try and find black polyurethane for the final build after paint.

Ref cycle speed, I haven't lost any time, but this is mainly due to removing the Y piece from within the cab and replacing it with this external T piece. Hope that makes sense!

I also released or should I say, was told, that because I installed a filter between the tank and pump I was restricting the oil flow into the pump, I removed this and have turned the pressure back down to 12bar and everything is now quite quick. I've even restricted the amount of servo throw on the bucket in order to slow the bucket tipping, more like the 1:1 model.

Nice work on the hydraulic line setup.

Is the ID of the blue hose the same as the black hose? Are you no longer using a filter or did you just change where it is located in the system?

Nice Machine!

Hi Smallhaul,

Both the blue and black hoses have the same internal diamter. I think it 2.5mm from memory.

To be honest, I haven't yet reinstalled the filter yet but it will be in the return pipe when I do..

Hi Elliot !

Please extend the hydraulic lines between front end and rear end (manifold and front end), otherwise you get any problems in difficult terrain. Especially, who tipped the front of the car in one direction and the rear vehicle in the opposite direction. Since the hinge is located and thus the hydraulic line to short, and could tear or be damaged.

Nice model, .....german engeneering at its best

I find myself liking this ADT more and more, with every picture. So if I'm right here, it looks like Vario will be producing the ADT as well, even though it is not of their design, at least not originally? Same guy who designed the excavator also designed the ADT, but he is not employed by Vario? Wow, these models are incredible.

I can't wait to see it painted. With less hose I assumed the cycle time would have been shorter, but I didn't know.

Yes thats right. It is the same guy who builts the dumper and the excavator. He works for vario in the main-time.Also he works part-time self-employed under the label fumotec which sell both, the excavator and the dumper. Vario only offers the excavator.
