Well here is an update Izzy came to visit yesterday and we built the rear gearbox while he was here and when he left I finished the front gear box and installed the servo and this morning I installed some electronics and took it for a spin. Sorry no build pics since I built it in less than a day but here is a video of the test run.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kysDlpSROW8

I will try and get some pics of it later all but the rear gear box because I don't want to disassemble it just for a pic.

Thanks SmallHaul. I just wish I had stoped and took time to get some pic's while I was building it but Izzy got me started and I just couldn't quit. I came in the house from the garage at 1am this mornig I just kept telling myself one more part and I will finish it tomarrow next thing I knew I was driving it on the bench with a battery.

Nice job Travis. Have you been planning the mechanics for quite a while? I know you've had the tractor for some time. What did you use for the steering servo?
I hope to get to the one you got me sometime this winter.

Thanks Snochaser I have had the stuff to build it for a while just needed a push to do it. The steering servo is a Hitec 1/4 scale.

In the video it is at full speed so I have plenty of gear reduction but it is still lacking power so I will need to try a little higher voltage and a different esc the one I am using is a cheap tazer 12 that I had to open up and do some soldering on after one of the motors wasn't insulated enough and shorted out on the frame this morning.

Thanks for the comments guys and I tore it apart tonight and reworked some things and took some pics. After I put it back together I tried it out and I am very pleased with the performance I tied a piece of wire around my 34# box of lead that I use to test my screw drives and it drug it around the living room on the carpet with no problem at all I am guessing it was pulling about 40# with the drag on the carpet. I will get the scale out tomorrow and see if I can get a good reading of how much it really pulled. Well here are some pics of the insides.

Rear assy.

Front assy.

Thanks for looking.
