Talking Case 220 Yard Tractor Resto..

Well the youngest boy and I took a all day trip yesterday and went out to buy a project for him and I to do together. This will be Joe's first project for him and I as we did the resto on the pickup last year for Tristin no joe would like to try his hand at it but he is more into semi and tractors so he wanted to restore a old tractor.

So we found this guy in southern Iowa that had many different tractors for sale in different states and different brands so we set off yesterday to find one. We got down there and Joe looked over everyone and listened to everything Ron the owner had to say about each one and heard them run and he even drove most of them but he finally settled on a great low hour Case 220 the tractor has just a hair over 100 hrs on it and indoor kepted. Ron found it 5 years ago and it had not ran for about 5 years before he found it he primed the carb and checked the oil and it fired right off so all he has done to it is service the hole rig and clean what he said was about a inch of dust.

So here is a pick of the proud owner with the OG Case keys on the key chain that they came on from the dealership with there info on it that is long since closed.

And here are some more back in are shop yesterday after we cleaned it a little more but really was not much to clean..

So we already have a plan for what we are doing and i have already have some parts on the way so more to come..

Nice tractor... I'm In the process of doing an old IH cub myself. Them old garden tractors are great. Looks like he picked out a good one too!

I love these Case, later Ingersoll, garden tractors! I've got one myself, that I'd love to restore. It's an Ingersoll 4020 PS. I'd love to get a 3 point for it someday, and go through it completely, but right now it's still a working tractor with a 61" deck. I think mine has 240 some hours, which isn't so bad either, but that 100 hour 220 looks pretty nice! I can't even see any grass clipping in the usual places!

Let's see here.

The seat is not ripped
The decals are good
The paint is good
It has matched tires and they are not flat

I think Joe needs to use it all summer and make some money with it and this winter tear it down....

Clean unit Joe great Buy.

Good luck

Wade

Thanks Much Wade.. The seat was trashed but on the way home we stopped at Case IH in Onawa IA and bought a new one. We get it back today and a minor issue with the motor fixed big cause was the old lead gas but we got that straight now it will be mowing again tonight..
