Default Newbie Here

Have been fascinated about building RC Construction equipment so I can start digging out my basement in these sub zero temps in ND.
Question I have is finding plans to build the equipment, need a starting point or ideas to where to start.
No machining equipment other than access to welders.
Thanks

this was my first build, no plans , all electric and only a grinder with a slitter blade and a welder.
small steps , but be warned , it will soon lead to new tools and then it becomes an addiction .

have fun.

What kind of machines interest you most?

Are you wanting to scratch build, convert, final assemble, or have a rtr?

Not looking for scale to start with, bigger the better. I want to scratch build and will buy tools as I go along.
Waiting on delivery of a 12x24 shed which I will use as my workshop. Hopefully I can combine the 2 hobbies of equipment building and smoking competition (currently building a trailer smoker).
Love the Dozer, that is one I want to build.
I want to build the basics for digging out the basement.
Excavator, dozer, loader, dump truck, to name a few as well as other items like conveyor belt to move dirt outside, etc. All a dream right now, just trying to get the energy to start building instead of sitting inside watching TV.
I mostly work off plans, I never thought of building mock up cardboard parts to check functionality. Love this place. Thanks again for sharing.
