The 9W did work flawlessly. In fact it ran Saturday from around 11:00am to about 1:15am Sunday when the battery exhausted in my radio. Jim, Scott , and Sam were working the third shift I did notice Scott's dump rolling down the hill a couple times. I think the driver was impaired from something
Sure would be nice if you could venture this far Lou.

Here are a few pictures from the show. I did a walk around to show the many shovels there. Proof that this is the shovel capital of the world.

SmallHaul-great videos!! It amazes me how they can get that old equipment working just like when it was new. In the R/C video, that was a pretty steep incline for your hoe to crawl up but you made it. The 9W was working great as always. Looked like a lot of fun!!

Modelman, Agreed they really get the old iron running well.

It was funny because on Friday i saw a bunch of guys say "we're all going to pick it up now" and i knew it would be interesting to see what they hauled back and sure enough late afternoon they come rolling in with a large old completely rusted shovel and it is running sitting on the flatbed! They said it was so hard to start they didn't want to shut it off, lol.

Thanks, yes the hoe ran well. Last year the tracks kept getting clogged with dirt and i would have to stop and clean the dirt out very frustrating so, using a dremel cuttoff wheel i actually sharpened the inside of every cup/tooth on the drive sprocket and now you can get dirt in the tracks and you just have to drive back and forth 2 or 3 times and it pushes it all out and keeps going. Knock on wood i haven't touched the tracks since.

Great photos and videos, guys. I'm especially fascinated with the in cab footage of the shovel. As an operator you sit right next to all the clutches, flywheels, and gears. That's awesome. I've never seen the inside of a shovel before. That's good stuff!

The guy operating the shovel (Ricki) was watching me run my cable excavator for many hours earlier that day and i could never get him to try and run it... then later in the day he got my attention and asked if i wanted to ride in the back of the shovel so that i could see how it operates. i always try to get the people that own the full scale equipment to run my models but, most seem to be intimidated by the remote but, every year more and more people give the rc's a try.

Tom,

We got there just as the rain stopped and the weather the rest of the weekend was perfect! That was the most fun I have had in a while! Steve and Scott are great guys to hang out with! I can wait for the next show! I think I'll try to get to the cabin fever show, and then got to the spring and summer shows in Brownsville. I was having so much fun running RC stuff that I didn't get around to the rest of the show as much as I wanted. Next year, I plan on staying an extra day, and getting there earlier on Friday, or maybe Thursday night.

Jim
