Default Blue tooth truck and trailer lighting from OB1

I ordered 1 of the blue tooth lighting control systems off of e-bay the V3.1M (master) and V3.1S (slave) for just under $100.00

So far I like the system the wire leads are long 24" and 16" simple to install and has some neat flashing light setups programmed that are push button activated.

The thing I like the least is the fact you have to pair the truck and trailer everytime you change trailers

Below are the instructions:

V3.1M

V3.1S

If you have any questions let me know and I will try to answer them for you

I received my OB1 V3.1 today. The instructions on this thread and in my instructions show connections using the MFC-01.

Just look at the instructions for the v3.1m on the 3 page you will see it you will need 2 "Y" cables to make the connections

I have a ss tronix kit on my rig, not only can I run the trailer lights, my motorized legs work too. I can hook and unhook hands free now and the system can handle up to an extra 120 led without a problem. I wonder if this new system supports motorized legs function? ....if so, what a sweet deal for the price! Keep in mind , once you'd choose a system, your committed. My truck and 2 trailers are ss tronix ( one more trailer to go! ), I have no choice but to set up my wife's truck with the same system if she wants to use the trailers. As with all things, you get what you pay for. SS tronix ain't cheap but works great!

Hey Aaron, not sure if you found this out yet but SS-tronix sells IR lighting kits that plug right into a MFU, they also have switching relays that can be used with trailer servos through IR. They are sold as a kit or seperate modules so you can have as many trucks and trailers you want all working together. No pairing from what I understand.

They take about 6 weeks to get but look pretty cool. Ill let you know as soon as I get mine.

Thumbs up Re: Blue tooth truck and trailer lighting from OB1

Hi, I'm pretty new to this forum, and just came across the thread. I use the SS-Tronix setup myself, and it's fantastic. I've even been able to road train two trailers. And I can't say enough about the customer service from Scott, Lance, and Julie. The system is well worth the money. You can see a quick video of it in action on you tube, titled-(Globe liner with road train).

Hi, Just curious if any one knows how the blue tooth units compare with the SS-Tronix units? I use the SS-Tronix, and I think their great! I like that I can work the legs on the trailer with this system, was able to get rid of that stupid mechanical setup on the trailer. I can now modify my trailers to sit lower and look more realistic, not sure when I'll get to that though. The other thing is that I can road train my trailers, and train as many trailers as the truck could pull. No binding issues with this setup. Do the blue tooth units function the trailer legs?

Pete

You still need the mechanical switch to do the legs with the blue tooth lighting system.

Thanks, That's what I thought. I'll stick with the SS-Tronix system, a little more expensive, but well worth it. And as I said before, the cusomer service is fantastic. I highly recommend the SS-Tronix system.

I have to agree with Pete. I also have SS tronix for both my wifes and my truck. She wanted all kinds of extra lighting that i knew would be alot of work to hook up to the MFU but thanks to the SS tronix kit the solution is simple.

this simple optional small relay board has 2 channels and can handle 60 led each which is plenty for our needs.
great system, i have 2 trucks and 3 trailers set up and i think one of my upcoming xmas gifts is a kit for the fourth trailer

I know this is an old thread, but was looking into the OB1 on ebay and it says it does operate the motorized legs. I don't own one so not positive but it says it does. No one answered that question so I thought I would put it out there. Maybe a knew function to it?

No it doesn't actually operate the legs. What it does with the built into programming is turns the clearance lights off and sets the 4ways when the landing gear is put into the down position.
