AWESOME! It'll be a GREATtutorial when it's done. Nice job thinking outside the box on that. I wouldn't have thought to use that to make a rim with.

Thanks for reply, I asked because the lighting in your photo made the hubs look alot like some rims I tried 3d printing some time ago. Was going to ask you how much effort it was to smooth them out as much as it appeared you had. I really like your idea though of mixing the hub portion of a standard wheel with the machined pvc. I think I'm going to try that just using 3D printed hubs. If nothing else will save a lot of support material and make cleanup much easier.

Short update of the fix for the broken trailer axle.
I've got some time to make the sleeve for all trailer axles that use std.axle.
From now on i go full metal axles.

How do you like the little chop saw? Is that one of the Micro-Mark ones? I've got a project I'm planning that is going to call for a ton of brass cutting and I'm thinking of getting one.

Yes i like it a lot. https://www.harborfreight.com/2-in-m...saw-62136.html
How to avoid cutting fingers in a 12 inch chopsaw this is great for small pieces.

A few things to think of.
1. weak motor stall easy. Use cutting oil and it cut easy.
2. sawblade get clogged easy. Use more cutting oil. Problem solved.
3. Take your time and don't overcharge the sucker...... job done.
4. Did i mentioned screw it to a sturdy surface.........otherwise you will mess up your work of art.
Have Fun.

Is it the best saw out there ??? Probably NOT but for $34.99 i will say it's doing a lot of cutting.

I bought it to cut brass tubes for the boom of the Demag TC500. It worked great. I made a special vice for the job. It made a nice clean cut and saved me a lot of time.

Picked one up today. Does indeed work well and I'm pleased with it. Only issue is that the blade clamp screw keeps working loose. Nothing that a drop of loctite probably can't fix. Great little machine for less than half the cost of the one I was looking at. Thanks guys.

So i was so impressed with this little bugger....... I went and picked up a couple more. I'm building a souped up table saw with sliding table and bigger motor.......
