Thanks! Yes that's safe to say.

Some minor scale updates to the PC700.
But first a little history. My only feedback to The Mother RC Construction was the rather unappealing rectangular shape engine hood cover. Paolo explained the reason for the rectangular shape was the result of making everything out of steel. I asked him if he can make an option with only the engine hood cover printed in 3D plastic. A month later he posted on shapeways That's customer service at its finest. Now for some pictures:
I had a local metal shop laser cut the new steel plate to match the 3d printed engine hood's curves. I'm keeping the original as backup.

I also plan on adding hinges so I can open up the engine hood like the 1:1 scale.

I see now what you meant about the original being a bit too square. Once you get that painted and the exhaust on, it will look true to scale.

Shawn, great pictures of the equipment and show area. Do you have any other pictures of the trailer and the mining truck?

What is the max load on that trailer? And, how did the mining truck perform?

Thank you for sharing the pictures of the show.

Jim

I picked up the air compressor and paint gun from my parents house yesterday. I'll have to practice on something first as this will be my first time using a paint gun.

I have other pictures of the giant dump truck and video. PM me your email address and I'll send some out. The truck definanatly has a wow factor. But I can't speak for its performance or drivetrain. We did convince an adult female to sit in the back and it drove around with no problems. But there is a YouTube video of this guy who's had some serious issues with breaking gears in the transmission. You might want to look there and ask him.

Shawn, I sent you a pm for the pictures and video of this show.

Did you have the link to the YouTube for the video of the Mining truck?

Thank you,

I’ve seen a king hauler pull 160lbs on a Rc4wd lowboy without issue. You just need a PMD 4:1 reducer, metal fifth wheel plate, and strong/stiffer rear suspension. Oh ya and hard foam tire inserts

It looks to me, like the speed controller ramps up too fast. If it has a brake function, turn it off. Or a more programmable radio?
Cheers, Neil.

Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted on this forum, I have been away from RC construction machine for a few years now.
I'd like to get back on track and I really like this model, the 70Tons excavator is my favorite target and the price looks like it's a great value.

Im more interested by a reliable machine with lots of diggin power than cosmetics.

I've contacted Paolo, which seems like a very professional guy with amazing craftmanship, but I'd like to hear back from an actual user of this model.
there isnt much videos on the internet and very few threads in german forums AFAIK, so it's difficult for me to get an idea of this model reliability.

So Shawn, seeing that you've been using this model for a few months now I'd like to get feedback from you if you dont mind, could be in MP if you prefer.

Would you recommend this model ? any hint would be appreciated really.
Thanks,

Dimitri.
