Okay, so is the trackpress video a forerunner to you building a scale-sized one to assemble your tracks? That'd be really cool, just need to find a scale-sized guy to run it. He won't need safety glasses - the real guy didn't either! I enjoy being around a press when disassembling really big tracks - like a Komatsu D475 or even D575. It strains and pops and jumps and gets your insides tightened up waiting for something to fly apart! Guess I'm just a sick dude using a trackpress as a source of excitement?!?

not sure I'll build the exact press but maybe a vise jig . I never got to see them used but I did see them when picking and dropping off for new P&B's

Yep you guessed it , sein it on the bench with the lil D6 this is the second construction model I started before I got the machining centers . Some things just wasn't sittin well with me . So made a new tank before I quit tonight . I had the turning center on bushings for the tracks , pin stock will be here tomorrow afternoon . Along with the cutters needed to finish up the links
Warning : you know it's time to quit for the evening when you I grave the tank separation line on the wrong side . Well I got a tig .

I've desided to go with the "C" model then the "B" . I like the newer cab arrangement

Maybe he turned them to the inside? And then, the square track nuts are no where to be seen

Steve, great job and always good to see the IH-Dresser stuff. Worked on quite a few of these beasts in the past.

Thanks , Tom . The pins and bushings are pressed into the rails(links) . Even the master pin is some what I'll be cutting snap ring groves in them . I was going to use the split master link , but I just didn't trust the bolts .

Here's a few more update pics . I have the chains assembled and pads on one side . Track frames almost done . New cab mocked up ( stickin with the B I don't want some komatsuized machine )
