Well rained tonight so no chance of any more painting :TD

But I did make some progress.

Put tracks back on the base

Installed a better slip ring

And here's the new along side the original slip ring

The excavator base attached to the track body.
At this point I decided to add some lock thread to the bolts holding it all together.

Reconnected the motors

Quick test of the wiring

And thats all for tonight.

Hey, thanks for posting!
Magom has really upped their game since about a year ago.
I've completely forgotten about them.
They have a beefy looking hydraulics kit for the Carson LR634 crawler loader. I've been looking to upgrade the cylinders in my model.
That's a nice excavator! Thanks for sharing.

Agree looking on they Facebook page they have a lot of new toys in the pipeline. And the hydraulics seem to moved over to brushless motors and oil instead of antifreeze. The pump in the excavator kit is jung hr7 so i'm happy with that.

Not certain. On the Premacon website the hr7 pump States 900ml per minute.

No didn't get chance to do any work on it over the week end. Need some decent weather to carry on painting the boom when that's done I can start to put back together and hook up the hydraulics.

Out of a matter of interest. Did you get all the plastics in the kit too? Windows and interior??

No it was just the metal shell. Can buy the interior separately but I didn't see that until after I ordered. Going to have a go at making my own interior.

Tonight been doing more painting.

First I wet and dry the bits to remove some of the roughness etc, then assembled the boom and bits

Several more coats of paint

Next.

Made a bracket to hold the slip ring in position and help keep pipes and wires out of the slew gears

Added servos to the valve unit

Pump & valves secured to the base

Played around with internal setting out
