Hello Greg,

I ordered this motor from Jameco last wk. It looks similar to what I have and what Lou posted as well. Hopefully it arrives within a couple wks so I get that adt fixed before I get crazy busy again.

Vario Germany with their speedy service sent out the missing part same day I requested it and I got it this past wed, just a little over a week. I've been painting parts while waiting, so I'll be able to make large strides in assembly when I get ambitious again, maybe tonite or tomorrow.

How's your projects coming?

Direct from Germany, eliminate the middleman for quicker service & cheaper cost.

My motor choice was WRONG! Much too slow! And double bad luck, not that it matters now as I have to take it apart again anyway, I managed to wire it up backwards too. 50/50/90 Rule

Looks like Lou's motor choice might be the correct one at 16400rpm, but I'll send Lars Stahl a mail just to double check this time... which is what I should have done a month ago.

Yeah, I know... that's why I myself am not much for scratchbuilding Dan, I greatly dislike doing things twice or more.

I got a mail from Lars this morning, he's sending me a couple of motor replacements.

I order direct from Germany as much as I can, some of them I've bought 2nd hand from ppl I've met on the forum.

You can look at this place from Germany, a wholesaler for Stahl, Leimbach and various others.
TTM Modelbau

Larger than 14th scale rc can be purchased here for nearly the same price as Stahl/Leimbach constr models. Vario Earthmovers I recently aquired the John Deere 850 (14th scale), the JD 450 is the 12th scale version with the only difference being the cab/body.

I've been tinkering a bit last nite with the 850, probably some more tonite too.

Thanks for the photo's
It sure looks to be well built, I think it will be a great machine for your open pit...

Joe does your WA 500 run 2 mm hoses or are they bigger, the 2.5 ? The hyd seems to be faster then the 966 ?

I just can't get over how big this hoe is, and it's getting heavier all the time!

I discovered another piece missing, it's for the hyd pump/brushless motor mounting. I see on their website that the packaging, the way its packaged for this kit is way different than the way I received mine... probably the reason why I have had a few pieces not in the kit. And I see they're still making changes to the model too, a different track drive.

Joe. That machine is spectacular. The size and detail is amazing. Your going have to build a crane first, to get it to the floor. It's to bad that there are so many missing parts. Do you think the condition of the box had anything to do with that.

It's just been two pieces absent so far. Everything is in sealed bags, so it's an error on their part. They've been good about getting the parts out quickly without question.

I can pick it off the bench, though I don't know about carrying such an awkward heavy piece down narrow steep stairs to the 'quarry'. I think I'll be walking it thru the house, out the back porch & coming back thru the window opening.

Worst case, it's just four wires & four bolts to split the u/c from the upper house.
