Thumbs up Freddy's Frames

Hello Gent's.

I got a much needed package in the mail today. I got my set of frames from Freddy.

Now some might remember that I had got a set of rails from SemiJoe at JTS Custom Trucks when I first started this project. Well I was not pleased with the way the frame rails looked when I got them and then as I went on in the building I had to sand a lot of material off of the stock Tamiya tank holders that I had.

This caused me to measure the new rails an compare them to the stock rail. The results were most unpleasing.

I began looking for new frames when Freddy let it be known that he had a bunch of reject frames for sale. I got in touch with Freddy and ordered a #1 set of frame rails.

I got those rails today and love them already.

Let me first say that Fred was a pleasure to work with. With out going into irrelevant details, Fred really bent over backwards to get me exactly what I wanted.

Now on to the comparison of these frames.

The Width of the Tamiya rails 7.15mm

The Width of the JTS rails 6.47mm

The Width of Freddy's rails 7.47mm

The Inside of the Tamiya rails 18.06mm

The inside of the JTS rails 19.05mm

The inside of Freddy's rails 18.43mm

The height of the Tamiya rails 21.24mm

The Height of the JTS rails 22.07mm

The Height of Freddy's rails 21.87mm

These measurements don't sound like all that much but they are big when it comes to installing precision machined/cast parts like the RC Dampner crossmembers and tank holders that I am using.

This picture shows the difference between the JTS frame and Freddy's frames.

Now for the comparison.. The proof is in the pictures.

First the stock Tamiya frame rails.

Now for the JTS frame rails:

Now for Freddy's rails:

That's it in a nut shell. I am very happy with Freddy's frame rails and will be using them on all my future builds..

Thanks for all you did for these rails Fred..
