As far as dehumidification goes you want to make sure you get one that is the proper size for the space and additional loads from the equipment. If you buy too large (too high BTU"s) of a unit you will have problems with condensation and rust on your equipment. It would be best to try and seal the space as well as you can from outside air infiltration and then have a proper size unit. Dehumidification is a function of the volume of air blown across the coil for a period of time. A unit that is too large will cool the space very quickly therefore not moving enough air across the coils to remove the moisture.

The stand alone's are nice (price wise ) but they just wont cut it with the largest 1 available . So , it looks like a split 1 but might have to wait till I can spare enough dough for it ( can not cut into the consumable fund )
