Default Howdy

Im new to building an rc and I have never truely made any parts myself. I have built more 1/24-1/25 models then i can count. With a few smaller pieces, like spoilers, made out of putty.

My hope is to build a truck from scratch as money is extrememly tight and it will likely take years to complete my rc truck. None the less I will be starting with the 1/16 KW W900 aerodyne. Stretch the sleeper to the studio length with a scaled 280" wheelbase.

I see that i can buy nearly a rolling chassis from intagy for a bit over $100 and add drives to complete that. But at $200 for a set of all metal drives, I wonder is it worth it or save some money and buy plastic housings with metal diffs?

I really hope to post a build thread once i get some momentum but till then I will likely just post odds and ends here n there to pluck along.

Welcome to the forum Wills, it'll be interesting to see what you make of the Monogram kit... I built many of 24th & 25th trk kits back in the day & right up until I stumbled onto the RC version in the spring of '96 at a hobby shop that I regularly bought the model kits from.

So these are my insperation. I want to build the Wopper first, stretch the sleeper and frame. Itll be my own veriation but you get the idea. Thinkin a candy copper and cream on both rigs as i will be building custom paint matched trailers too.
