Default End Dump Trailer and Dolly

I got started on this a couple of days back. There is still a fair amount of work to do but it is coming along. Eventually, I will be building a matching dump box for the truck as well.

I don't know what the rules are in Alberta. The box is 24". Scales out to 28' i think. You know me, I just try to build what I'm asked to.lol I think it will be OK as the truck is a tri-drive and will have a 19" dump box. It's gonna haul a lot of dirt all together!

Hey Mark I thought they did away with the 120 permits there and 80 was the max especially going over the bridges?

Sweet Reg! Hoe much does a dump trailer like this cost without the tarp set up?

Wow reg! You just keep impressing me with your builds!! Looking pretty good!! I have to go revisit your skidded thread, I realized I could use one. Every time the wind blows small branches fall, and after watching one of your videos I realized that would be perfect for skidding branches!! Build another one of them and ship it to me for testing. .

Thanks RW. Yes you need a grapple skidder for sure! Probably could use it to pickup "logs" from your Great Dane too.lol

Probably around $1150-$1200USD using a flatbed trailer as a base like this one. In this case the customer already had the trailer so he shipped it to me to modify. That knocks around $200US off.

Tarp is all mounted up now...

I was out of the shop for a couple of weeks but have been back working away on this since Monday. Two long work days have this almost ready to go. Just a few small details this morning and then it will be torn down to receive it's velvet black powder coat.

I was asked to fit a stock King rear bumper to the trailer so I modified a stamped steel trailer bumper mount to except the KH bumper. It had to be lowered as well to clear the overhang when the box is up. The owner has a nice new bumper to put on. This old beater was just installed for testing...

Up front the "quad wagon" needed some shorty fenders so I made those up. I also made a plate to cover over the open frame. I gave a final "trim" to the ladder as well and mounted it up.

Next up was the dolly. I was provided a perfect set of KH rails with the axles but rather than waste them I decided to make a new set and only drill the necessary holes for a cleaner look.

Once the rails were ready and installed I got started on the drawbar and mount.

And finally, after making a couple of pintle hooks, a few pictures outside!

Looks great Reg. I'm building the same basic set up to pull behind my 6x6 dump, yours looks a lot better but Im having fun with it. I'm attempting to make my draw bar interchangeable so I can run the long stinger pulling the dump and a standard short hitch for pulling a set of doubles with the same dolly.
