Thanks for the input guys. I was aware that resistors are needed to regulate the voltage to the LED, I just didn't mention it, however I'm not sure about the resistor size but those links will be very helpful for figuring it out. I was more interested in figuring out how to operate the LEDs. I do have some integy rx switches.. I'll need to utilize one of those I take it..

Thanks for the suggestions on the radios. I wasn't awRe there was a V2 of the 10t. Glad that was mentioned. I know Joe likes his dx18...

Something like this? It's controlled by radio, turns off and on by radio switch.

I like the DX18 b/c I prefer to grip the radio with my fingers & operate the sticks with my thumbs. Tray radios, you're using your thumbs & index finger, maybe your middle finger too. And the DX18 has the rotary sliders on the sides of radio that I easily operate with my index fingers vs the tray having sliders that has sliders in the middle that would take thumb & index finger to move.

I'm maxed at 9chs now with Vario with an electric quick coupler & electric power connector on the side of the stick. I have no plans at this time to add any more functions.

The Fumotec Komatsu 490 excavator has the option of 5 valves, so 4th valve will be a quick coupler & 5th maybe a grapple or thumb. But there again, the 9chs will be used with no need for more chs as I don't do lights or sound.

Sounds like a dx18 is the one to have. Do you use the side sliders for track movement? I couldn't find any details as to when the v2 is going to be available.

Got a little further today on the wiring, and had a question I hoped someone could chime in on.

First does anyone see a problem with the way the leads that will plug into the rx are coming through the hole in the platform? They are not tight or tangled and look a mess in the pic but I will arrange them neatly soon enough but i was wondering about being in a bunch and maybe creating interference with one another in close proximity? Wasnt sure about that.

And does anyone have any tips for first priming and running the pump and system?

How to set the system pressure or any other last words that may be worth considering? Thanks

looking good Jason ..nice and neat and tidy ..servo wires being mixed or twisted have never seem to affect my systems ..would be personal prefence i guess ...If you can get your pump on a rotory dial channel that would be goood ..this way you can turn the speed of the pump down while you are filling the system ...fill your resivior then as you use each function boom lift /stick /bucket one at a time activate your pump at a slower speed ...full bucket curl ..full bucket empty ..keep an eye on your tank and fill when needed...with you last function do not over fill as the cylinder take a bit more when extended ..it helps to keep an eye on pump pressure ..hope this helps

Thanks Lou! Ok Good. I wasnt sure about the servo Wires being a jumbled mess, and thought i heard of that causing problems, but i thought that they are right next to eachother coming out of the Rx so...

Ok good to know on the priming. That all makes perfect sense, esp the rotary dial. Good idea. Thank you

That looks great. It's amazing how details like that make a machine look so much more realistic.

Awesome, Jason. I could sit and watch you build all day. The details you add go a long way to making the machine come alive. Great work.

Thanks fellas. Planning on finishing up some wiring and getting it moving soon. Then on to the body/cab. Looking forward to that.

Got movement today finally, after a year of anticipation. Everything seems ok, with the machine, no leaks, although using the dx8 limited the movement in the tracks, as i couldnt figure out a neat way to set up the radio to control them. Im most likely gonna step up to a dx18 and leave the 8 for trucks and the loader. They should come down in price soon after the Gen 2 comes out.

I did notice that one of the tracks seems slower than the other. When Dip switch 4 is on, on the 2x25, both tracks run together on the same channel and one side is faster..Not sure whats going on there .ill have to deal with that..But in the meantime Im going to start finishing the cosmetics and wait on a radio.
