Hi Cos

I have been told by the owner of the hobby shop in my area to Used Caustic Soda on plastic to remove paint, It will even remove house paint.

Please note that Caustic Soda is a Drain cleaner so be very carefull when using it as it get very hot after mixing,

Also wear gloves and eye protection when working with Caustic Soda for your own safety.

From Cameron.

yellow top easy off oven cleaner is the best for me. stripped 4 or 5 this way. I get a trash bag and put the body in it, spray it down, close the bag and wait a couple of hours. brush it and rinse it off and repeat the process. I use an old tooth brush for the nooks and crannies when I am done wash it with soap and water and prime and paint.

Denatured alcohol worked great for me. I payed like 15.00 at the Home Depot for a gallon... Ya just sit it in a bucket let it soak for a while then paint bubbles up and pulls right off...... The other way may be cheaper. But I know this didn't hurt the plastic at all and i let it soak from the night to when i got home from work the next day.It was enamel paint that I had used too.

Exclamation Re: stripping paint off bodys.

Which ever method you choose to use, just remember to use safety equipment (a resperator and gloves) and to be sure to clean the parts a couple of times thoroughly with soap & water.

Have fun, be safe, & post pic's

Im stripping a globe cab for a repaint. Soaked overnight in a bucket of pine sol. I just poured the whole bottle in before bed and this is what it looked like after 8 hrs.

15 min of scrubbing and this is what it looks like.

One side had a heavier coat and will need to soak a little more so I don't scrub the rivits off.

I used a fine scotch pad and a tooth brush to help remove the soft paint

Hope this helps someone...

Trent
