Default Before Cossett guts me

A..w..h..i..l..e back,Ole-Cossett called me & asked if I could help her out w/a trailer she just purchase here in the USA.
Well...when it got here & I opened the box,I almost fell over when I saw how butched this thing was. Turns out Tracy already knew it would have to be overhauled, best of all she got it cheap.
So here's some pics of the trailer before I git my hands on it.

I'de almost say there's a half a galllon of paint on this thing.

Check out these nice spring mounts.

Now don't this look better already?

First the rails, although this time the the frame will be lowered under the 5th wheel.

Thanks for lookin!

Holy cow. I think the paint underneath all those coats must still curing! Those look like Wedico springs, but I don't understand why they are on a Tamiya trailer. Well, at least it's in capable hands now! Looking forward to the over haul!

Nathen, those springs are off of a reefer trailer.
Onward, Next cut 10mm off of the frame rails to lower the deck closer to the wheels.

Mount the axles.

Then set the deck on it & slid 3 axle under it just to see how she's gunna look.

Thanks for lookin!

Great workmanship, as usual. Fred, after you notched the rear side rails to drop the 5th wheel, what did you use to "glue" the top flange to the side flange? I don't see screws or aluminum solder or anything. Freddy magic?

Thanks, Ken.

Gee Thanks Guys!
Ken,it's not magic by no means. First I tack the seam w/my mig, then cover the mess w/the-ole-JB weld.
I knew it was just a matter of time before my weekness in reading, writing & understanding Australian would get me in trouble!
Back when Cossett sent me the instructions on how she wanted the trailer built,I notice that it didn't look right when I read it. So I tried google translator,& that didn't seem to help either.
So called her on the phone,& still had a hard time getting the layout correct.
Well...Needless to say the trailer that I've been postin is no longer in existence!
Man! Now this really blows my image!
Turns out all the axles are spoda be behind the deck,& the deck is only 20' in the 1:1 Aussie world.
So this is the correct version of the trailer Cossett wanted. "I HOPE"

Even made the front axle load weight adjustable.

So this is where it goes to Cossett for the finishing touches. Here's a few pics of er before it goes in the box.

To be honest w/you'all,the problem w/the first trailer wasn't cause of my misunderstanding. It boils down to I'm an IDIOT!
Thanks for lookin!
