Closer still and thankyou.

So here goes, this is what its (hopefully!) going to be:

Wait for it...

A JD 9530
My Mum & Dad bought it me for xmas and said it was ok because it had Age 3+ on the box LOL!

I was saving up for the MFZ Blocher kit http://mfz-blocher.de/jd_knicklenker_bilder_g.html for the conversion but blew the money on my Bridgeport mill instead so decided to give it ago by myself.

This weekends work:

I want to try and gain a little more ground clearance and replace the button heads with some counter sunk ones instead.

Thanks for looking

Stuart

That all looks like 1st class work

Do you have any drawings?

Also can you tell me where you bought the tyres and foams?

Regards

Thankyou!

No drawings, only sketches with dimensions of the parts I want to make.
I am basing it on the MFZ Blocher kit, of which there are a few build threads on some German forums, with some very useful reference pics, along with my own design changes mainly to suit the materials to hand and my own limitations.

Tyres came from here, took me ages to find!: Tyres with foams

Got the other motor mount done:

Thanks for looking

Stuart

Absolutely brilliant.

Thanks for the information, tyres now on order

I'm watching this very closely

The machining looks within my abilities so might give it a go

I'm watching this closely, as I am thinking of buying a MFZ blocher kit for a future project (probably in 6 months to a year).

Good work, and nice model choice.

Thankyou, I've always liked JD's, I used to drive a 4255 years ago when I helped out on a farm.

Which Blocher kit are you thinking of?

This weeks progress:

Haha! Yeah I guess I should have noticed how far the plate stuck out the back. The pivot won't be hard, just have a few drinks, grab your drill and start boring holes. Keep the updates coming!

It is so noce to see the centered gearboxes. It really hurts my eyes always to see these RB35 gearmotors. They are strong, but this looks so much better!!

Keep it coming!

I know what you mean, it took ages to decide on which gear motors to use and I do prefer the look of the centered ones I have.
They are a bit longer than the RB35 ones so I have had to offset the wheel centers.

I just hope they are upto the job!
