I can't believe it! I do love my 966 wheel loader. Glad I stocked up on some of the driveshafts in-case I need to replace one....

What about the people that put money for dozer pre-orders?

Wow, so did they just stop business, or get bought / merge with thicon?

Hi folks,
this was going on for some time now. Here´s what I heard to that story.

Wedico pronounced bankruptcy a few months ago when the CEO died suprisingly. That´s a common use by german law if there is no other CEO. They tried to find replacement and raise new investement. Sadly without success.

Thicon finally purchased what was left by the liguidator. It´s not all clear how it is continuing. I don´t think that the business will be the same. As it says: WEDICO Truck + Construction Models GmbH i.I. operations are over.

I think a few people can´t wait to see what the future is up to. The exisiting parts might still be sold and hopefully some new products will appear. Thicon has some quite great ideas in their portfolio.

The main problem might be the "soon to be" bulldozer as the customers had put down a deposit and as far as I know the license by CAT wasn´t part of the takeover.

I´m pretty sure there will be an official announcement soon.
bye
Ulrich

I would be surprised if they get their money back. I find it quite ironic that some people were trash talking about RC4WD because you have to pay by bank transfer for Eagles construction models and were worried about not getting their order...

Thats really too bad for anyone that put that deposit down, especially if they do not get there money back. Like you said, I would also be surprised if they received their money back.

I will sometimes see that someone else is developing a new machine. And, they are taking pre-orders. I always say to myself "no way would I ever do that" too scary. Too risky.

As for the RC4WD. I performed the "Bank Transfer" along time ago. Yes I was scared. But, I got my machine. I think it has been performed so many times now, that most of us aren't that scared any more.

Yea, I'm with rc13. Done some business with RC4WD via bank transfer and now have gone directly to Tang at Eagle/JD though he prefers transfer through Western Union which still makes me nuts till I get the email that the $$ is in his hot hands, and really still loosing a bit of sleep till it shows up.

All, there is some limited information on the Thi-con Model site about the Wedico models and when they will be available from them. Their site leads me to believe that they are going to offer the complete line of Wedico models, but again the information is somewhat vague at this point. According to the site more information will be available in February, just around the corner from now.

Also, this site lists PMD as one of their "dealers" so I take this to mean that they will continue to supply parts and models to Ric. Only time will tell once all the legal stuff is settled.

I hope they continue the Wedico line, I only have one, but its a great truck.

Respectfully,

Jim

Thumbs up Re: Wedico has closed up the shop?

I stand corrected. Looks like Thicon is continuing the Wedico dozer. Taken from their site “The completion of the new CAT Crawler D9T is still under consideration. Further information will follow.“

The deposit likely 20% or 30%... how can Thicon honor it when they didn't receive the $ in the 1st place? ...the investors might be offered a discount.

Only gamble what you can afford to loose

Could be that Thicon took on all of wedico's debt's. Possibly the deposit's on undelivered goods may have carried to Thicon? Best case scenario I guess.

Hi, I actually ordered a couple of small parts from Thicon the other day. Then they sent me a newsletter (I copied and pasted it below). It was both in German and English. Yes, they said they are still going to produce that machine. If you don't read all of the info below, just read the last couple of lines. It says to contact Thicon if you are one of the people that put money down on the D9T.
