had a bit of playtime, have slowed the revs on the signal reversing card, sounds a little better, not revving its head off.

Great Equipment you have there!! I am just starting, so far i have the excavator like yours and the armageddon dump and my Loader like yours is on it's way. Think I will pull it apart and do the diff's right away. Is that Big dump truck manufactured by you or another outfit?

thanks, takes a while to get a fleet together.
and yes pull the axels and fit shims, also make sure all the bearings are there, mine had the bearings in the axel tube missing, standard tamyia bearing will do the job.
the dump truck , if your talking about the yellow rock truck, I scratch built it from scrap metal I rescued from the rubbish bin, I think there is a post on here under MY JUNK ROCK BUILD, has a hydraulic tipper and electric steering.
need to get some small rams, or make some when time allows for the steering.

heres a quick video of a bit of axel bashing on the loader, still going strong, must be 20 plus batteries and still no problems, cant say the same for the speaker connections, must be shorting on diff lock steel cable.
will fix on next days off.

cheers andy

I borrowed a few small bits from work, brass shims 1.5 mm thick and super glued two pieces top and bottom in the main diff gear bearing housings , makes a nice sung fit, no way the bearings are going to move around now.
I measured the bearings and then the housing and found about 2.5mm of difference!
not exactly a precision casting, but all good now.

Hey it don't look like junk to me, but I get what your saying. I need to just sit down and make some builds instead of buying all the time. Thanks Andy, I will keep in touch.

Now that's a nice wall of fun!!! I had the wife convinced (and myself) that you had the sandbox inside the house. From other posts you could see a couch and looked to be inside. She lets me run them in the house but don't think I could bring dirt in the garage. Although the supports the idea of me building a vacuum truck.

Now a vacuam truck could come in handy.
As for playing inside. Punishable by death or so ive been told.
we bought a new house about a year ago. Wife got itchy feet I said big shed and that was my main want.
a week later she found a house with 4 acres of land and huge 4 bay shed .
go to the auction and we are the only bidders.
next minute we are moving.
I will suggest tha vacuam truck idea to help out with the house work. If you dont hear from me again you will know what happened.
cheers andy

also need to point out that there is another use for the shed,
you cant just play with RC consturction modles all day, belive me Ive tried.
sometimes you need to make things. was lucky enough to get these two toys at a really good price, next to them is my paint box. have fitted a small fan heater at the bottom and cut a slot at top of box to let the heat out. makes painting all year round possible. welders and grinders on other side of shed so lathe and mill dont get covered in unwanted dust.
I plan one day to convert the mill into a CNC set up as ive seen it done on the net , looks easy enough but a little costly at the moment.

cheers andy

Thanks. Yeh a mig will work. Turn if way down.
personaly I used my mig on the thin stuff , just makes for a lot less cleaning up after welding.
The only thin part on the truck is the tipper so if you ask an engineering firm to weld it up for you it shouldnt cost too much.
the cab is made of rubbish plastic , super glue and a lot of filler.

after numerious requests for how the excavator has been wired for sound.
this is the sound modual I got from eagle machienery of aliexpress, the connections arent how I ended up running it in the excavator, I also fitted a signal reversing lead on the 4th valve so revs picked up when the sticks were moved. I will take a few photos on my days off to show which channels i used on the reciver

how I installed my eagle mach sound card.

photo 1 ;
channel 6 track motor use a y connector and put track motor cable and the orange lead to sound card.

photo 2;
channel 7 4th valve .put signal reversing connector into channel 7, put white lead for sound card into one of the output leads and 4th valve into the other.

at the front of the excavator there is a strip connector to supply the esc,s . I connected the power cables for the sound card into one these.

mine didn't work how I wanted ( when stick moved the revs decreased) on the signal reversing lead there is a small pot ( photo 3) adjust left or right to change out put signal, once done the revs will increase with stick movement.

I don't know ( haven't tried) if it matters which lead you use that comes out of signal reverser . but I do know if the signal is reversed to the 4th valve when you try to start the pump it will stall( not good swap wires around or try adjusting the pot 180 degrees)
a bit of guess work and it works perfect.

last picture job done.

hope this helps.

cheers andy
