Default globe on knight rails project

new hairbrained idea... globe on knight rails!

started on the triple alxe show truck, had the stock knight hauler rails left over and thought hmmm...

going to stretch the cab 2", add the aerodyne top, full fenders and running boards, big pipes, some boneyard goodies, and we'll see what else i have in the parts bin..

comments, suggestions always welcome.

some pics of the start.. everything pretty much bolted right up except the floor pan, i had to drill 6 new holes. not sure about the double tanks though.

made one fender, just have to figure out the mounting.. and make the other one to match.. lol

The Knight Hauler chassis and Globeliner cab go together like apple crisp and vanilla ice cream! That is, if you like the large car look.

Looks like a good start, did the knight come with those tapered end pieces to the frame?

if anybody wants, i have them full size in autocad, so i can print a 1:1 template in pdf they are about 2 inches wide.

the sides are .60, the top is .15, but i think i'd go thicker on the tops, but this is my first one, so i'm still learning.. anybody has any tips, i'm all ears i'm amazed at what some people are able to do with styrene.

stretched the cab and got some aeromax skirts on, actually ended up looking better backwards and still need to stretch them a bit to reach the fenders

thought about either a aeromax or knight roof, but none of them look right.

back to the exacto and styrene..lol

Coming together nicely. This is going to be one of a kind. If you use the knight roof, I think if you stretch it like I did on my "KISS" theme truck, you might like it better. Have a look at my thread just to give you an idea on how it look's.

skirts (one side) and front bumper sort of in place, have to shave the mount down to move bumper closer to frame

fuel tank in the space?

or the rest of the skirt

I say open space, no tank in there and not the rest of the skirt, keep it largecar look. That's my vote.

fender sides were drawn in cad and printed to scale and then just traced onto styrene, used some thinner stuff and just glued to the top of the side pieces.
