I can just see that big tractor pulling a low boy with a D9 dozer on it. Brings back memories of my younger days. Just not as heavy tractor.

I bought ScaleArt's brass/chromed mirrors and turn signals, really excited about them but don't want to install them till the truck is near completion.

Couple quick pics; cab, hood, sleeper and headache rack are just sitting frame, nothing bolted down that is why there are no fuel tanks in this photo. Still waiting on drill bit to drill out my Wedico rims so for now I'm using the SA Euro rims on the front axle, but now have the smooth tires mounted. How bad do those black hubs stick out? They kind of bug me but not much I can do with them. Also when the wallet recovers I will buy the other set of rear aluminum dual wheels and driveshafts.

Really digging the scale driveshafts from RC4WD.

I really like the way this is turning out!! It has the right stance for a mean heavy haul!

If you could or can swing it I would have snatched up a set of the Stahl / Leimbach US style super singles. They are a direct bolt up to that axle and have a nice center hub as well as a small bit of taper to the wheel face giving them that true Alcoa look. Either way truck looks great as it sits. One thing to watch out for and be gentle with is the locker arms on the axles. The pin they bolt on is fragile and can snap off quite easily just from the most slightest bit of over tightening. Same goes for them mini lug nuts.

Next time you put another order in from Overseas put out a few bucks on their hex tool set. I believe avf-modell sells them. They are black and green in color. Very very usefull when working on the small scale German hardware. Will also help in case you ever need to tear open your axles as it covers all the popular mini hex sizes the German modellers use in their builds. I got my set from afv-modell. I don't think I've used it in a long while either as I no longer play with the 16th scale German stuff any longer. Probably will sell it off down the road but still undecided yet because they are a fantastic set of drivers to have and can only be obtain off of the German market.
Thanks for the compliments and advice! I thought I could just drill out the lug holes on my Wedico wide rims to 2.05mm and use them, the bolt pattern is the same. Well, I tried it tonight, the rims are heavier, thicker than the ScaleArt wheels, so that means I would need longer lug bolts. Seems everything is a trial and error kind of deal when building a Wedico. Buying aftermarket parts is even kind of a guessing game. I'm not against buying another set of wide wheels but I must know they will fit the wide Fudla tires as well as the Scale Art axle before buying anything.

As for the drivers, I will have to look into that, I could surely use some of those.

Ya, I got 'em straight from Scale Art, I love them. They have great details and bolt straight to Wedico holes. The price, it sucks, about $127.00 a pair.

Claus:

Thanks for the link to the smaller jack-stands... the 6-tonners looked great but too big, but now that they make the smaller ones, they are perfect for the semi's...

Now if only they made the PSP/sand-mats that were more in scale for our rigs... I've been tempted to try to make my own from the perf'd stuff out of microwave doors, but I don't have the skill to bend the material decently.

WhiteWolf
wishing they made more stuff to our scale... (1/14-1/16)

Got some new front wheels, steering knuckles and some shorter tanks from Steve. Not much to show yet but here are a few shots of the new front wheels. These are not Leimbach wheels, they match my Wedico rears very well.

Also test fitted one of my Scale Art mirrors, even has spring loaded antennas.

Very impressive truck you have going there! That's the nice thing about projects you spend time with, you end up with something like this. Guys like you are few and far between! I really like seeing the Wedico trucks being taken to this level...and beyond!

Thanks Steve, you're too kind. I just realized I need 20 small bolts to go in the hub covers. Will be working on shifting servo and diff locking servos next.

Well after more than three years I have a running Wedico!, thanks to Espeefan that is. After talking with Nathan for five years I finally got to meet the man face to face last weekend when He came and stayed wife my wife and I, we worked on the Wedico and went to the Lafayette Farm Toy Show in Indy. It was great meeting you Nathan, you are a true friend which is the kind of things that make these hobbies fun.

On to the truck, still have plenty to do, need some rear fenders and deck plates and another set of rear hubs, kind of screwed one set up, yikes! I have to say the Tekin 55T on the Veroma 3 speed and 11V of LiPo gives some nice speed ranges and plenty of power. Installing the D1 studs in the front axle hubs is enough to drive a man to drink. The truck sits higher than I had planned or really like but sometimes with a Wedico you have to be happy with the changes you were able to make or at least that's the way it goes for me. No lights or sounds, just a smooth running truck.

Thanks for looking.

It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife too, Craig. Glad we were able to finally meet in person. Enjoy your truck, my friend! The drivetrain is great, and makes it a joy to run.
