Talking New project! Bruder cat track loader Update 1/4/12

As I wait for the finishing touches for my tri-axle i decided to build something to load with. I really like the looks of he track loader and I have seen some really great conversions. So I decided to this one after some research. I really liked Pumptech's drive configurations. Here are some pics after I got the hubs made and mounted. Thanks for looking!

Brian

Hi Brian,

Have been thinking about using those micro gearmotors for the drive in my Liebherr 574 Loader - how do you find them ? I would be using four - one on each wheel.

Perhaps you can give us a demonstration in 28days
Did you add a pintle hitch on the triaxle so you can pull a 25T tag-a-long?

Thanks for the link Brian, I have found them from a UK ebay seller ! Are they any good ? Do they have enough power to move the Cat with some weight on it ?

No problem, it seems to have a good bit of power. I would have liked to use a bigger sized motor, but I was afraid I wouldn't have the room.

Well I am moving right along with this. This is a really fun project! I threw it back together to shoot a vid. The bucket has a full quart of hydro oil in it. I'm happy so far. Thanks for looking!

Brian, I'm sure you'll do a great job. I'll be paying attention, I'd like to try one in the future.
It looks like it moves effortlessly.

Good work!

As for hydraulics, what pump, spool, etc did you get? Do you have the hydraulic components?

what battery are you planning on running? You may want to consider a battleswitch so that you can turn the pump on and off to save battery when you're just rolling around...

Wow, this is a new direction for you to be headed, Brian. I'm surprised, in fact, but I'm sure you can pull it off! You wasted no time getting a running model. Looks good in the video already. Think there will be enough room for the hydraulics?
