Default drop AKA tag AKA lift axles

I'm about to start a KH conversion from a freight hauler to a SUPER DUMP, dump truck. What have you guys used on previous projects for the drop axle rims, & tires. With the standard Tamiya tires/wheels, I find they are too big to fit. I need to fit 3 lift axles underneath this thing. The frame rails I have, from a Grand Hauler aren't quite long enough to accommodate this many axles. I can ONLY fit 2, & then there isn't enough room for the third, & still have fuel tanks.

If you don't know what a SUPER DUMP is, here's a YouTube video of it. It even features a construction company local to my area.

These things are FAST becoming popular here in Washington State, due to the high volume of materials they can legally haul, & still maintain maneuverability in tight spaces.

I know said tires should be slightly larger then the standard Tamiya rims, when mounted on the their rims. I've thought about airplane landing tires, but can't find any that are
A.> highway type of tread, &
B.> Can't find anything that has appropriate holes to mount to the standard Tamiya axles. I'm really stumped on this one. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up Re: drop AKA tag AKA lift axles

u can use regular size front rims and put low pro tires on there and if your frame is not long enough get blank frame rails from a vendor and make it the length u need

There's not much, maybe 1/2 an inch more I can extend it, & NOT lose the scale of the model with too long of frame rails.

well, I found some that AREN'T proper, but will work. Traxxas makes a chrome set for the slash/Erevo 1/16th scale that will bolt on. The tire tread is more of a traction tread, than a drop axle highway type. The rims will be spoke type, rather then solid like the Tamiya stock rims, but I think I can make them work.

I've always been the kind to gather parts, before I start a build, rather then start it, & then try & find parts.

I would go with what others have mentionned and use lorider tires on the stock wheels. Another option would be to use Wedico wheels and tires for the lift axles but your talking more $

After looking at them, I believe I can make these work from PMD

I've already fired off an Email to them, inquiring if they offer them as a packaged deal, PRE-mounted to rims.

They're in the mail! PMD didn't offer a pre-assembled package for them, but they DID send me the links to tires, & rims that I wanted. I just clicked the links, & added the stuff to my cart. I've dealt with them before, they're great people to work with there!
