You did great job! Now make a video of that digger behind a truck see we could see them more in action!

Btw, that video was running on background for awhile and that sound was amazing, just like a real digger!

Nice job on this set up Nate! Is the fifth wheel bucket mount a scale 1:1 prototype?

Very cool Nathan! I have never seen this set up before watching the video. A very innovative idea.

A tamiya rig will certainly pull 80lbs, but to try to carry 80lbs too ? You'll want to replace that plastic 5th slider plater with a metal one.

We hauled Dirt Pushers dozer around at indy with them plastic parts and did not break anything and it weights in at 110 I think Joe said..

He'll be fine for a once in awhile pull around but for a every day use you might want to beef up the 5th wheel plate . With Nate's set up he only has statically 40 # on the truck . It's the dynamic loading you need to worry about whereas , I highly doubt you will be pulling it around on uneven ground/roads at a high rate of speed Joe's D10 pulls real well on wheels but try to drag it hitched to the 5th wheel (not that we would ) looks good Nate , now I wana see a vid

Joe's D9 is about 80lbs.

Nate, it'd be interesting to know what amount weight would it be at the bucket with the rear of the tracks resting on the dollies, could you weigh it on a bathroom scale?

What do you think of a tri axle jeep to spread the load? Your trk with Russisloud's simulated air ride suspension, a load such as this would certainly test its limits!

Got no scale, that way I can't check how fat I am...

I did test the rig tonight and it pulled the vario just fine. Just need to load the front of the truck with weight so it will respond to steering better.

Did you lubricate your 5th wheel at all?

A spray on graphite is relatively clean to work with, dries very quickly.

Post office scale's, not practical option.

Finally warm enough to get some welding done on these buckets Joe traded to me for my 1st dollies. (V2 will be built soon) Although rare, sometimes it's nice to have a small TIG for this tiny stuff!
Not bad for a couple hours tonight! Should have them finished up this weekend.
