Default Eagle 870k loader modifications: Light kit and more..

Hi,

I just wanted to share my modifications to my loader. I've not found anywhere that could help me when I added the light kit, so I though I could share my experiences here to maybe help others in the same situation. There might also be other modification later.

The loader as it looks originally:

I ordered the light kit with the loader, but it was not installed for me. It was all in a bag with really a lot of led lights and a control board. One sheet of paper in Chinese was the only supplied documentation.

I used the magic (IMHO) Google Translate app in camera mode to see what the documentation read.

I've used the same light setup as in the official Eagle Mach demo video:

Adding the rear lights

The rear lights fit into holes in the cast iron rear ballast parts. But they did not fix in the hole, and I didn't want to glue them in, so I 3D-printed a part that fixes them in position. Also, the part is springy, so if I run into something that pushes the led into the housing, it will spring right back.

Steps to install the rear lights:
1. Remove the wheels (unscrew all screws in the outer circle of screws in the rim)
2. Remove the fender
3. Push the LEDs into position

Steps to install the front lights:
(you don't need to remove the cab, even if I did it here)
1. Thread the wires under the cab, along the hydraulic hoses and out on the sides
2. Take the light fixtures apart completely (unscrew all parts)
3. I had to drill the whole in the fixture a little larger to fit the 5mm led.
4. Thread the wires
5. Push the LEDs into the holes
6. Bend the LED wires into position
7. Screw everything back together

Steps to install the cab lights:
1. Unscrew the two screws that go into the roof on each of the cab sides in the front, just above the doors
2. Unscrew the two screws that go down into the cab walls from the roof in the rear
3. Take off the roof
4. Push all the LEDs into their holes
4. (optional) If you have a rotating beacon, drill a hole in the roof. I also had to drill a wider hole to allow the nut to be close to the light, because the roof is so thick there were no threads to screw onto without the wider hole.
5. Fixed the wires to the roof using the supplied fixtures
6. Re-attach the roof

Done! :-)
