What about a varnish or a stain? Just an idea, but it would show more of the wood and grain than paint.

Thanks Chris and we will be painting them and once they are painted they would look like wood at all..

Nah Steve we are going to paint them want them to look as scale as I can I might weather mine to look old..

I got some more done today on mine Ill get some picks later tonight.
