Default Euclid R-62 dump truck

Euclid R-62 in scale 1/24

My next project is something completely different. No crane this time!
My main fascination is with cranes, but I also love earthmoving equipment.

The intention is to make this dump truck fully functioning and able to handle tough conditions.

I started with the axles. I will make axles with planetary end drives and lockable differentials.
These are the parts:

Planetaries come from this motor:

The axles are taking shape:

Cool, old school brute. Will be looking forward to seeing more. What scale?

Oops, never mind, you stated what the scale was at the very top of your first post. I was so focused on the photo that I didn't see it.

Great project-this will be fun to watch. Good to see scratch building happening again on this site. If this is any where near the quality of your cranes it will be spectacular!!

That's gonna be pretty cool.

Ya got him wanting to play in the dirt, next thing ya know a crane is going to be pushed into Dragline or Clamshell operation...

How long are those gearmotors, not counting the shaft?

Your craftsmanship is always superb so this will be another awesome build!
Can't seem to find a spec sheet on the real truck, what are the general dimensions in 1/24th scale?
Sorry I can't make Cabin Fever this year, so won't be able to chat in person, but hope everyone has a great event.

This should be very easy and less time consuming than your normal builds.

Very interesting method of frame construction. How are you holding the pieces together?

Amazing work already! Super heavy duty. A question, how tall are those tires, in inches, top to bottom?

(I havn't been around in a while, and then couldn't log in for ever. Finally got in.) Dan
