Default My F-350 4x4 Dually,NOW!The plow King!

My next build that I want to do is going to test me patiants & skills to the max.Have been on heavy medication,& it's knockin the stuffin out of me.
So gunna go w/somethin nice & easy.
Been wanting to build an rc verson of the truck I drive. Special ordered this baby back in 99. It's 4x4,stick,v-10 w/4-56 posi. It's an animal!

So...,my toy verson best have some hair. Did some parts collecting & just about got it all together.

I have a headache rack & tool box in the back of the truck.

So had to come up w/those two parts.

Nice HUH?
Had to make up new frame rails. Not useing much of the f-350 parts,so don't need a swiss cheese frame.

She's gunna be pullin some heavy loads on the goose neck.
So she's gittin some good heavy duty axles.

Was going to use Bruiser trany, but it's a tad on the big side.
So,the stock trany goes in er,of course gear reduced.

Bought some tires & rims, that I assumed would do the trick.

The rims are a wonderful thing! But the tires are to big for me,whachya think?

Anyone know where I can find some smaller dia tires to fit these rims.
There from rc4wd. didn't see any smaller ones.
Thanks for lookin!

Looking real good, nice job on the toolbox and headache rack.
Tire wise, I'd suggest the Tamiya BFG's for a nice scale looking smaller tire. Although, the bigger tires might look better being they stick out a bit and lend to agressive look. The smaller tires might just look funny sticking out past the fenders. The rear fender will be easy to match to the width, and looking at the 1:1 the front fender looks to have a bit more of a flare in the arch than the model body so maybe you could add a bit to that.

I'm sure you will "knock this one out of the park" too Freddy. The tires are a bit much for me too.

Glad you boys are diggin the build so far.
Can't take credit for the tool box & headache rack,Captian scale made them for me awhile back. They turned out really sweet.
Well...gunna use these tires & lift the truck a bit to make up the diff.
Glad I asked you boys before started drillin.
Ed,think they'll be ok for this build. Won't know till get the rear fenders out & see if it's gunna look close to the 1:1.
Hopefully will have some time today to get a jump on this baby.
My main concern is if I have room to stash all the hydraulics for the front & rear blade Now this will bring it to a new level. This plow setup is getting dump springs & the whole banana. Really don't want to use servos to run the stuff.Time will tell!
Thanks for lookin!

oooooohhhh.....ooooHHHH.....OOOOOOHHHHH!
Yea baby! Did some diggin lookin for hydraulic stuff,& scored big time!
Forgot I had this garbage fom India,so this is the perfect time to use it up. Also have one of these cheap plastic pumps.EXCELLENT!! Kinda looks like there's enough room to pull it off. I HOPE!

Well had to make up some front spring mounts.

Didn't want to go to high w/this baby,so set the high where it looks right to me.

Turns out,it's just like a real truck. If you don't have enough lift for the size tires your runnin, your butchin!

Can't git a set of fleas balls between the fender & tire on a turn. So either I butch the fenders & bumper,OR find smaller tires. Because it ain't goin no higher. It never ends!
Yea Cossett,he did a nice job on the rack!
Thanks for lookin!

Freddy is copying his peronal 1:1 truck and it is a standard cab.

Looking great! The stance is perfect, but the tires still do look a little over sized. Not sure what other options are out there. How would a 1/14 scale semi tire look under the fenders? Dually rims would be perfect in the rear. The only downside is you'd loose the rims, which are accurate. Shame the tires aren't just a little shorter. Either way, Fred, you'll figure it out, I am sure. Going to be a neat build to watch.

I wonder how it would look with with 1.55's but rc4wd doesn't make rims in a dually set. I'd echo that for the ride height, the tires look too tall.

Not sure if all the 1.5 tires are shorter in height. Some 1.5 tires are almost as tall as 1.9 tires, but the rim they mount to is smaller. Maybe you could stretch some shorter overall height 1.5s over the 1.9 rims and get a little better looking combo?
