Default RDS800 Setup to MFU

Here’s a How TO: Bind your MFU to your Radio

Your radio and rcvr should already be bound, if not, follow the instructions in your manual to bind your radio with your rcvr.

First, you need to setup the basic functions on your radio. Below is an example of a 6 Ch Airtronics rcvr.

STEP 1. Connect MFU to Rcvr

CH Airplane MFU/Truck
6/b flap n/a
5 Gear n/a
4 Rud Shift input
3 Thr Thr input
2 Ail Steerin input
1 Ele Spt legs input

***NOTE***
It is an absolute must to connect your rcvr wires properly.

STEP 2. SETUP Radio Functions

***NOTE*** YOUR RADIO COMES PROGRAMMED IN BASIC, DO NOT CHNG

Turn your radio on:
Right Arrow (ch+) to EL, then
Down Arrow (function DN) to :

REV NOR (REV REV) YOUR THROWS ARE REVERSED
D/R 100%
CNT 0%
EPA UP 100%
EPA DN 100 %
Press the END KEY back to the main menu.

Make sure your settings are programmed as described above. Repeat STEP 2 for the Ail, Thr, and Rud Channel. Press the END KEY back to the main menu when all the steps are completed.

STEP 3. Binding MFU with Radio

Switch on your MFU and follow the programming instructions in the setup manual.

***NOTE*** Move the joy sticks thru the function setup slowly. This will help to ensure a more precise binding.

Your radio and mfu should be bound at this point, if not, repeat steps 1 and 2.

STEP 3. Setting up Advance Features

We will now setup the D/R (Dual Rate) features for operating the lights, horn, engine shut down, and haz lights functions. These steps will eliminate the need to operate the slide trims.

On the face of your RDS8000, there are 4-two-pos switches (2 short/2 tall) We will only use the one SHORT toggle switch on the upper left face of the radio. The short switch operates the EL D/R

3a. Switch off the MFU
Arrow Right (ch+) to: EL
Arrow DN (function DN) to D/R
Set D/R to 140%
Operate the toggle switch up or down to display the either the number 1 or 2 and:
Set D/R to 140%
Press the END KEY back to the main menu

3b. Right Arrow (ch+) over to Rud:
Arrow DN (function DN) to :
EPA Right (set to 125%)
EPA Left (set to 125 %)
Press the END Key back to the main menu.

The above settings will allow you to operate the advance features of the MFU simply by moving the joy sticks in the appropriate direction. Your trim settings will remain unchanged.

***Disclaimer***
These settings should work with most radios. You may need to fine-tune your settings to suit your individual desires of your truck.

Enjoy
