Default My Little Restoration Project

this has been my project for the last two months, 1942ish grey ferguson, im not too sure what year it is because it didnt have the vin plate when i got it, my plan was to do up a nice easy to restore tractor, well wasnt i wrong, i was told that when the engine got hot the coolant would mix into the oil, we (dad and i) thought it would be a simple head gasket fix, with further investagation we found that it couldnt of been, the liners were slightly corroded where the water ran, we probably ended up flushing it out with diesel five times, we re-seated the valves jb welded where there was serious corrosion on the head and put it all beac together, put some oil in it and gave it a good run. about two weeks of monitoring the oil it went all milky again, it pretty much mind boggled both dad and i because we had no idea what it could of been, we painted it after we rechanged the oil and flushed it out, about three weeks ago we noticed that there was coolant leaking out of the thermostat housing , which was in front of the head gasket and when under pressure would spray in through the gasket, had to pull it all down just to get to it , good old jb weld was to the rescue, its almost finished and all we have to do is final touch ups , wack another coat on the bonnet and hopefully sell it for a decent price and buy my first car , if this is in the wrong area , you guys can move it to where it needs to be

not a bad buy for $1000
What do you guys think??? will put another photo up when 100% complete
Cheers Lucas

Nice work! The tin looked very straight for such an old tractor. The paint turned out great. It's always good to see a piece of history restored and preserved.

Can't be an Australian model cause it's not right hand drive.

It looks great! I really like any old equipment that's restored. It probably runs and works as well as it did when new too. I bet you wouldn't get that with a 2014 model tractor 60-70 years from now.
