"Incense" hey? I was actually thinking that the one "apparatus" looked like a giant bong already. You know, the one with the bowl half buried.lol

RW got me thinking about trees n stuff and after watching that video. Then I realized I've got scale trees falling from the sky in my yard! I've been busy hauling it out when once again, I can recycle... For awhile. I doubt these ones will be around in August but hey, I got trees today:D:lol: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2rslquvm.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psiksz1okp.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3bnljwiq.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psycduvzcr.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psprsviivx.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...pspvu1i8qj.jpg |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
That's what I used for trees in my area too! They stayed green for a month or so and now they are snags.lol Your pine almost looks tropical.

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Needs water and roots too !

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Turns out, all I had to do was let nature take its course! No need to plant trees because I got natural stuff coming up right along the road.:D.
Couldn't have planned it any better. http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psrw92hxsf.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...pslkteeute.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psmuvehhzx.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...pslenhmxv5.jpg And here are the spots I could use a bridge or two. Would be nice right along the wood pile stretch and want to go between the trees behind the scale shack up towards the truck shop stretch of road.:) Notice the root patch I'm trying to avoid Bo :D;) http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psizbdodvf.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps86zxv0ia.jpg |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Hey Mario. What is the "official" name of the small town. Im starting woodworking the week after next, Building beams and bridges.
Do you mind if i steal a five pictures and do some sketches on them just to make sure we talk the same language sort of ? and i kind of want to know the level in hight from road to road and obstacle course. I think i can drive the KH Beam Hauler most everywhere in you're town  |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
I've been trying to think of a good name for a long time now. Came up with a few but none jump out and say that's it!
A friend suggested Foxville due to the fact there are 3 foxes that walk through and play in our yard almost on a daily basis so that's the name for now? I'm thinking when everyone is here in August and we are all sitting around playing at 2 in the morning, somebody is going to blurt out the perfect name for the town.:) By all means go ahead and play with pics. just to keep things simple I figure bridges just to span rough terrain and not actually high enough to drive under them? High elevation bridge means more room required to ramp the road up to them? No real height requirements just whatever works best for the bridge building. Looking at the lay of the land and largest root height I figure need about 3" of elevation atleast? After watching how well your beam float maneuvers around, I agree you shouldn't have any problems getting around the majority of the yard.:D |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Sounds great let the project Foxville Bridges start.
How far away is the building supply from you ? |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Looks good Mario. I have some natural growth happening here on the playground too but it's just weeds and grass for the most part with a few small alder trees. It seems like most of the trees are growing right in the middle of the road too and I'll need to pull them out.lol Yours is creating a nice boulevard!

great work Mario

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Nice use of those collectors items for ballast. Bo and I would have rather you used nickels though for obvious reasons.lol
You should ditch one of the Firgelli's off of the blade and install another Sabertooth. Then you would have all of the blade functions. Tip, tilt, lift. Looks really good and I want one... |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Mario, great job on the conversion, looks capable and seems to operate well.

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
With the dozer build completed, time to get back at working in Foxville. Town needs a industry to keep things rolling so the factory was next up for completion. :)
Yes, it's all just a bunch of scrap parts and backyard debris but even scrap has a story..... The steel bins used as the buildings for instance, those are actually from Australia! Whenever a underground mining truck is shipped from Aus, they discovered a lot of the valuable items like back up cameras were being easily removed and stolen enroute. To eliminate that, items are packed in a wooden crate which placed in the dump box and then covered and stich welded with these galvanized boxes. So like always, nothing fancy with high exact details and functionality but I think overall it turned out alright. :) The windows and catwalks are made out of a flourescent light fixture diffuser.:D once again, something laying around suddenly has a use. http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psexa1tz3i.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psljyqzf9g.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6om922yp.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psgdwrlvix.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psficy5rqp.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psxylukjja.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psm1yj5wvp.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psbd9ioo7x.jpg So not too bad for about 12hrs work this weekend. That's my problem, not patient enough to do things all slow and proper. I wanted something done and built now! |

Light up the factory and the bugs will all die off! Maybe you and the neighbors too though?
That looks awesome Mario! I love the use of hoarded materials. For that and the creativity used I give it a 12 out of 10.:D |

Place is looking awesome Mario!! If I get time to finish the haul truck you may need to incorporate some pull off spots along road. Not sure how well the brakes will work with a full load!!! Might have a tailgate, plastic bag with ice in it, and a case o'beer to drive around!!!! Really looking forward to the festivis! I haven't had time but once this year to use a couple batteries!!

I'm getting real anxious for the party too. Yes, I called it party :D:lol: I haven't even had the hoe out yet this year. So busy with building, cleaning and tweaking Foxville , haven't done any digging at all!:cop: All for a reason though, not being lazy, just getting ready for the fun:D:bounce: |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Flaw #1 to having buildings in the backyard 24/7. Just had a good down pour and that sure makes things messy I'll tell ya.
Good news is, my little naturally growing trees are looking great! Almost time for a trimming, I'm thinking I might be able to keep them looking small through till August? ..... My backyard bonsai trees? Steel plant is none the worse for wear, it's clean, almost too clean for a factory. Some pics, and no wise cracks about the pink petals all over the place! I never knew one of the trees sheds them when I bought the place! they'll be gone for August no doubt! :cop: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...pschrocu2v.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4w5yzekd.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psvmggg9sj.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psmjutjrcs.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psmstkwhcw.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psjbcs93rs.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psf2hcuz7t.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...pskyxm7moi.jpg |
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Looks like you need a 1/14 scale pressure washer!
|
Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Oh man, my wife and I just spent 5 1/2 hours pressure washing and scrubbing our house and shop! It wasn't quite that dirty but it was close. At least you can just carry those to the sink to wash them. Not sure how many times we went up and down ladders during our cleanup.

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Hi Mario have the same problem with railroad buildings . Pine needles around them helped and so did pea gravel or beach stone

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Safe to say I've had a fixation with Coroplast for quite awhile now. seems to be the only thing I been doing lately:rolleyes:....
Anyway, today I finally completed one of the projects that originally got on to the stuff in the first place. 7 buildings later, I'm finally using to cover the loading docks. After 2 futile attempts at covering with plywood which never survived the seasonal elements I finally got it right this time I'm sure.:D:bounce: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...psfrplctz1.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps54rd75qb.jpg http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/...ps55cnnmk9.jpg |

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Latest addition to the construction fleet arrived a few days ago. I promised Reg I would give it a good home but that don't mean I'm not going to put it to work.:D
It is a very single task specific type of machine but I can surely put it to use in my yard to help build better roads and the type of dirt I'm playing in will work great with this machine. And of course happy to own another of Regs awsome creations:D Here's the first table test and a little practice work outside. https://youtu.be/E9HAlBqJliM https://youtu.be/fPkFAGl48oQ |
