Great looking trailer! How are those electric "cilinders" holidng up on such a big trailer? I never had one of them so dont know reallly how powerfull they are.

Re: Flat bottom half round trailer

I'm happy to see so much positive response to this. The shape of this trailer was difficult for me to form with my equipment so it took a lot of fiddling around to get it where it is. In the end I really like it and it was an interesting challenge.

Doggy, I make the screw drives for these trailers. They consist of a threaded shaft with prop rod and a high torque planetary motor.

It's a beautiful day here today so I took Mark's trailer outside one last time before it makes it's way across the continent. No action shots this time though...

Greasy is good Reg. That means maybe the material won't stick in the box and prevent it from laying on its side!:lol:

Sorry to hear you lost your pics Mark. That's a real bummer.

I heard of truckers applying stuff on their dump boxes when building roads with ashphalt. Do you use anything on your 1:1 dumper Mark to help material slide better ? Think I would use Armor-all before trying Pam on my trailer lol! :D

we use antifreeze in the winter if it gets real cold over night..
the aluminum tubs have a Teflon liner on the floors slicker then grease
you will fall on your @$$ if its wet and you in the trailer

How tall is the scale trailer when the tub is fully raised ?

bigford 02-11-2016 09:42 PM

Re: Flat bottom half round trailer

30.25" to the top of the tarp box at full dump height

Re: Flat bottom half round trailer

Reg I'm curious, how much would something like this be for a dump box?

RCP57 02-12-2016 10:35 AM

Re: Flat bottom half round trailer

It would be very similar to your half round I would think Calvin. I would have to build a false floor to recess part of the lift, a one off tailgate and all that. I would think $900 or more without a tarp(for KH). The 1/4 round isn't an easy shape for me to form accurately with the tooling I have so it takes a lot of time to get it right. A truck box would be a little easier than doing another trailer though because it's half the length.

Kausekaos 02-12-2016 11:11 AM

Re: Flat bottom half round trailer

I put the other box on my truck because i was bored and i like the way it looks but technically its not mine anymore so just thinking about what I should do.
