Hi Lmackattack I'm trying to figure out when you said you moved the front axle forward , did you just slip it forward on the spring or get shorter springs and remount them ? BTW I got my Mack cab and it looks good . The only other thing is how did you lock your rear axle . Thanks Mike

Hi Mike sorry I missed your question

To move the front axel simply move it ahead of the rivet and lock it down. I use the stock springs with just a single leaf. I remove the 2 helper springs so I get more articulation. you may have to do some adjusting after the cab is mounted where you want it.

to lock in the axel in you need to remove the axel(s) from the truck then take the diff out. take the diff halves apart and inside you will see a triangle that holds the 3 sun gears rotate on. take one of the 3 sun gears off the triangle and place it between the other 2 sun gears. now bolt the halves together and it will be fully locked.

Personally I like both axels lock in but I do mostly extreme off roading with my trucks.

Buy the high build primer at the auto parts store. 3 or 4 coats and let dry A few days between coats. The paint really soaks in to this 3d plastic.

I will get some pics of the under side. I used low pro servos and then moved the motor/gear box forward so that the motor sits over the servos.

I shortened the shift control rod its only about 1/2" or a total of 1" long with the plastic rod ends.

The steering servo was flipped around and I ran the control rod between the frame rail and the spring.

Its all a tight fit but works pretty good.

They are sold as 1/24 etched metal badges but they are way to large for 1/24 the fit the 1/16 much better.

Re: Mack R model ten wheeler dump

I installed some of RCP beams in the Mack tonight. It was said on his youtube vid that installing them may limit the side to side articulation slightly. However this truck saw lots of abuse in the dirt over the years and has sloppy pivot points in the suspension. The new beams went in and the slop allowed them to move around quite well. I did run a quick file thru the bottom 2 holes to "oval" them just a little so that each corner of the tandem can move more independently. Both axles have the stock plastic travel stops cut off them and the suspension moves plenty. These will also keep traction even across the tandems being that its now a true center point suspension . I removed the shocks as well to get just a little more travel. doing so I needed to install a RC4WD driveshaft as the tamiya dog bone will not allow for the extra travel it has now

Im impressed with it.The lift might be a knock off by lesu...i got it on ebay from joes ...it works nice and smooth and seams suited better suited for short box 6 or 10 wheeler end dumps. When installing You have to find the "sweet spot" in the frame to bolt it in. Bolted in To far forward it will not lift the box very high. To far rearward and I question the strain it would see trying to lift the load. I mounted mine between the axels to get good hight and good leverage. Where it's mounted it sits about 15mm above the frame rail so that it clears the axels and allows them to articulate? This is ok because the tires will extend about 5 mm above the rails. Here are some pics focust on the lift.

Hello i added,a spring of about 20mmx10mm,to the output of the geared motor.....it helps lifting:)
