 Re: My First One

Just thought I would post a quick update been plodding along with this build as time allows.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e6...pspduodknn.jpg I wanted to hide the wires for the lights as much as possible so decided to braid the wires took a bit of time but hopefully they will look ok once on. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e6...psxtppwfik.jpg |

 Re: My First One

Got some more done over the last few days. Hopefully going to get the body in primer this weekend.

 Re: My First One

braiding the wires is def a nice touch, keep it up, you will learn and innovate as you go

 Re: My First One

 Re: My First One

Isn't it great when your woman loves and supports your hobby:D;)
Nice work so far! I also like to keep wiring as neat and tidy as possible. The braid is a great idea and look. I never knew it came in such a small size. Where do you get it? Mario |

 Re: My First One

		Thanks for the comments guys.
As for the braid I got it from a custom pc website here in the UK. I have used 3mm braid on the lighting and 6mm on the servo. Really easy to although a bit fiddly as you have to take the connectors off the end of the wire to get the braid over. |

 Re: My First One

The braided wrap tided it up looks good, is the braided wrap heat shrink cause I remember seeing it used on someone elses build some where not on this forum.
	Cheers Tracy |

 Re: My First One

nice truck!!! nice job on the cables
	 |

 Re: My First One

The braid is made on nylon and woven like a Chinese finger trap. I have then used normal heat shrink on the ends to hold it in place.

Happy Birthday friend, congratulations for your gift

 Re: My First One

Well got the body shot in clear over the weekend I think it is looking good for my first attempt at spraying a body like this. Everything else I have spayed has been lexan so didn't have to really worry about the finish. Cant wait to start adding the decals and chrome.

 Re: My First One

		Hi,
before you finish your painting, I'd like to make a proposal. I had a King Hauler cabine when I started my roadtrain project. I glued the skylight and cleaned it. You will get a clean and plain roof. http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/knqp-91-3fe9.jpg |

 Re: My First One

Well Finally got my finger out and finished off my king and flatbed build this weekend. Here she is in all her glory.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e6...psgearor0g.jpg Now what to build next. |

 Re: My First One

Nice build for your 1st truck. Instead of trying to figure out what to build next, why not start making the truck look like it is really yours? Start doing the normal addition of after market goodies to both the trailer and the truck. Anything you add will only make the rig look better in your eyes.

 Re: My First One

		Looks great.
next build how about a globe liner. |

 Re: My First One

Hello mate the truck looks great in blue, good job on the painting I just built my first king hauler and first time painting also - it's not easy!
I reckon you should take a look at some of the aftermarket accessories you can buy and customise this truck before building something else. Check out www.gardentrucking.com, and google 'custom big rigs' for inspiration. I suspect you'll be spending some $$$ in no time! Matt. |
