You can also thread the ends of the ladder and attach the same way as side mirror bars attached to the model truck:one nut first feed through the hole,tighten with second nut from inside.

I used electric iron 80w. and 2.5mm brass rods from a hobby store. Flame torch tends to give to much heat to one spot and metal starts bending on its own. I actually just finished the roof rack as...

I just made a ladder for my 1/10 scale Land Rover, used lead solder.
