radio question

I'm about to start building an amphibious vehicle which is likely to be built out of aluminium .

Just wondered if any one has tried this before and were there any problems with radio reception.

Hi Kent,
Looking good, to answer your question about lift speed, here in the UK you can buy servo slowers that fit between the receiver and servo, I have used one from here before...

Very nice truck and workmanship, just love it!
Its maybe a bit short for gin poles, mines a scale 28 foot bed /400 inch w/b and poles are just long enough , they are the length of the bed.

Yep, hss tools are the best for aluminium, the carbide ones tend to gouge it out rather than remove material by cutting. Watch out that the ally does not attach itself to the end of the tool if you...

Filing and sanding sounds the way to go with plenty of eyeball to check the profile.
Its looking a nice job so far. Guess the cat is keeping a close eye on the job :)

Now I know its a long shot but...at Gaydon last year there was a modeller from either Carlisle or Cheshire who was there with his mum, they had some realy nice scale 1 tonne bags with a corn...

Here is a photo of the winch, it uses a motor with a 100:1 gearbox to directly drive the drum

gregg, I understand where you are coming from but there are a lot about with only one front drive axle, if I knew how to do it I would paste a pdf from CAMEX showing the one I loosely based mine on.

Flat top fenders do look mean, any photos of your truck?

Yes to the gin poles, if you look very carefully you can see them layed alongside the outer planks, yet to drill them for the pulley though.
The 5th wheel slots into the bed for now above the pivot...
