Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

The Bell 4206 is a cool machine. Looks like it needs some help pulling the scraper though. You should hire someone to run the dozer and give it a push from the rear. :)

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Got it Joe. Thanks. How many hours have you got on the WA500 now? Any idea what the weight is, with BB's in the tires? Seems a pretty darn robust machine, for all the work it has done. Do you...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Reg, I'd say the tire squat is about as scale perfect as can be!

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, does your WA500 notice the bigger, and heavier bucket much? Any guesses on the max wieght that the hydraulics can lift on the loader? I am sure it's somewhat dependant on the hydraulic...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Perhaps it won't be long and Frank will start on a dozer? He's got some pretty good track drives already. On his home page is a video link to a tracked dump truck that he is showing off. It looks...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, interesting about the pump having a blocked port. Glad you figured out the problem though. Perhaps now it will perform better. No idea why you'd have 3 ports on the tank side of the pump. ...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, it's been while since I checked your thread! I didn't even know you had a Scale Art 963B track loader! Dang, that model looks like the real thing, sitting all cover in dust and dirt. Shame it...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, speed controllers with internal BECs have limitations in what current they can supply to the other loads you are powering. Often times the BEC voltage and current is listed in the spec sheet...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, just a thought - are you running an external BEC, or receiver battery pack? If you are running on the ESC's internal BEC, a heavy current draw can over tax the ESC, and the internal BEC...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Wow, you really destroyed that bearing! I kind of wonder what caused the failure. Dirt, to much tension on the belt, or maybe just plain wore it out? If dirt was the case, maybe a rubber sealed...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

I'm guessing an articulated dump truck as well. Those made by Fumotec are really nice.

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Take heart, Joe. It's a hobby and past time, just like everything else we do for fun. This hobby is not so much different then model railroading, and look how often outsiders call that hobby...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Looks like you had some arcing on the contacts, Joe. I wouldn't say that's uncommon. It happens on a lot electrical components. Is that your slew ring? Dielectric grease should cut down on the...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, I just had to tease you a little. :D We all have our 'off days'. I do pretty good with MIG welding. TIG welding is something you need to do often to be good at it, and stay good at it (not...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

I have to agree with everyone else! That picture of the Volvo dumping in front of the grain bins had me fooled too. At first glance I thought you might have bought yourself a 1:1 Volvo ADT. That...
