I Mike, yes I am very certain that the laser would do a much better job. The edges of these panels are rough. I built this to be a visual aid basically. It took about an hour from cutting to paint. I have seen laser cut edges and they are much cleaner and precise. If I get the chance today I will re-cut one of the panels to show it pre-assembly.
