			The problem is Tamiya set the low voltage cut off for Nicad or NiMH batteries.   
 
This voltage is FAR TOO LOW to safely use a LiPo! 
 
People will realise this when they see their 1-2K investment melt in flames as the Lithium Polymer battery burns it down! 
 
If you even want to occasionally use LiPo you need something from say RC4WD or Beier, something that has LiPo settings.  The Tamiya MFU series is using 20 year old technology.
