I ordered another control unit from another shop and manufacturer. probably exactly the same underneath but was slightly cheaper. Got it today, hooked it up, and worked first go.
Clearly not a problem with my radio/reciever/speedy etc.
Tomorrow i wire it in, and Prime will be lit!
Fingers crossed it looks good!
