I actually quite like the 3 axle. To make it different enough from the other two axles and to further justify it's existance, make it a single wheel lift axle as opposed to a dually and with a low profi tire. I think one of the guys in here (IHBuilder maybe?) makes a special single rim/hub that sits midway between two standard rims, if you catch my meaning.
That would be something rare and different.
