I find it hard to describe in words how it is going to work.
To reach full boom length the last section goes out first, then the one but last and then the second one.
I am using a hi-lead screw (
http://www.roton.com/Mating_Componen...family=7060762) with multiple leads just to speed it up a bit. It has to travel about 22" for each section and it will take about 25 - 30 seconds for each. I think one motor will do it, but there is the option to have another motor on the other side (easy to add). This screw has a high efficiency. I tried it by hand and it works very nicely. I chose this screw partly to keep the weight down. An 3/8" acme screw is sooo heavy and has a lower efficiency.
