			Hi all,

I am looking at building a unit similar the the John Deere 764 high speed dozer. I will be building for function more than scale replica. I am looking for suggestion on a durable locking axel. Any ideas may help. I included a picture of the JD 764 for reference. Thanks

RC4WD has a whole bunch of adaptors that will fit most any axle you chose.

Have the tracks....lol....that's what started the idea. Got 3 sets at a great price. Just looking to see what guys have used that's heavy and lockable for an axel. I wana go fairly quick but still need lots of low end power to push.

Ive been working on a tracked articulating dumper using Tamiya semi axles and made my own adapter for the predator trax from Rc4wd. Track edge to edge is 7.5 inches.

How about a gh motor at each track? 25 to 35rpm

Was thinking of worm gear motors, but was not sure how they would handle low speed hard pushing. Still want to be able to get moving too. Thought I might have to stay with a transmission to get ow end power and still have some decent travel speed. I do have a few motors in the speed range you suggest Joe. Might mock one up to a set of treads and see what it does over the next week.

Am looking for a outside 8 to 8.5 inches when done. Know I would have to modify the stock axels to do that.
