How do I make a 4 phase stepper motor work with a standard 3 wire RC controller?

![]() I put red to red, black to black, & signal to the yellow wire, but it don't work ![]() I tried placing the wires in every different combination I could think of, & even then, it wouldn't function ANY, & all help is greatly appreciated. 20170802_050505 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr

Stepper motors take a much different control than brushed or brushless. It has to have pulsed power through pairs of wires in sequence to actually move, so it's something like polarity dependant Blue-yellow, red-black, Blue-yellow, red-black... Get a battery, each time you hit a pole it has the shaft jump a fraction of a turn, hit the next pole another fraction of a turn.

There are options https://www.pololu.com/category/9/mo...ontrol-modules But are you sure you want a stepper? Also it's going to sound like an old printer or a scanner. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stepper_motor

After hearing that it will be noisey, like the old printers, I DON'T want a stepper motor anymore. I bought it because it was cheap. I though I may have had a cheaper alternative to an actuator. Thank-you sir, for opening my eyes to this. Because of you, I avoided a disastrous mistake.

Perhaps I can take it apart, & use the framework, but put a different motor in it? I'll have to experiment a bit with it. |

It shouldn't be screaming loud like those printers, but usually it's atleast going to a loud hum or tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk kind of noise.
