hello guys and gals this is my tamiya clodbuster from the early 80's .i bought it brand new when it first came out .it was the biggest in its class i think at the time and has 4 wheel steering and has 2 motors ..one on each axle.i was able to pull my neice on a skateboard when she was 7yrs old .the truck has seen 2 paintjobs and everything is original except the speed control.it came with a mechanical one(with the arm on a servo)now it has an esc i have never jumped it although at that time the chassis's were cracking in the middle under the weight so tamiya quickly came out with an aluminum brace for support which i have on it .the truck still after all these years works like a clock and i am quite happy with it.it has the original bowtie chevy emblems on the grille and the tailgate which are no longer availible ..just wanted to share this with you all...oh btw the truck will remain almost original

Nice Clods! It's awesome to see others into these aswell as the trucks!

Sorry to sound pedantic but the original chev clod buster came out in '87, the chev insignia was removed in '89, and the Super Clod Buster was released in 2004 and discontinued last year for a short time as it was the last remaining Tamiya that used a mechanical speed control, these were deemed a hazard so it was pulled while they re boxed it with a dual motor esc and then subsequently released again. Original bullhead was released in '90 and has now had the re release treatment.I have a huge love for Tamiya's monsters I also have 3 kyosho monster trucks...Here is some of my originals... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

always wanted a clodbuster, but here in Australia they stopped selling the clod when the Juggernaut came out... and as everyone knows... the Juggernaut is LEGENDARY for the wrong reasons, those being weak diffs, transfer case and tailshafts (driveshafts)... so I missed out on one of those... but I didn't miss out on getting a Juggernaut 2!.... mine's currently painted Tamiya TS-19 Metallic blue... but I've bought all the bits to reshell it using F-350 Hilift body parts.... was going to keep the blue shell as the runner, and the new shell as the shelf queen, but my Jugg2's had a rather hard life... as until recently It still used a MSC... which was not kind on the diffs... it also is currently sporting a pair of Carson Poison Motors.... which might come out Silver can's back in and one of the poison motors goes into my Knight Hauler... also have a TXT-1 (Juggernaut 3 in everything but name) too which is awesome on gravel

I always admired the clod buster, and remember reading articles of the ESP Clodzilla upgrades in RC Car Action. It was out of my price at the time.

As for classics, I have a 1980's tamiya bruiser and I added a 1979 Ford body from HPI, with proline tires and steel tube bumpers. I like it, good fun to run and look at! |

the super clod has aluminum braces that support the lower axle links inside the tub. Other than that its identical to the original besides the ugly blue plastic all over it
